The Federal Railway Act of December 13, 1951 was the legal basis for the Deutsche Bundesbahn . The Deutsche Bundesbahn is defined therein as a federal special fund . The Federal Railway Act was repealed except for individual paragraphs by the Railway Reorganization Act of December 27, 1993 as part of the railway reform .

The Federal Railway Act repealed the Reich Railway Act of July 4, 1939 (which came into force on July 11, 1939).
