The Federal Act on the Promotion of Universities and Coordination in the Swiss Higher Education Sector ( HEdA , SR 414.20) of September 30, 2011 is a federal act of Switzerland . It came into force on January 1, 2015.

Conceived as a framework law, it serves as a basis for coordinating Swiss higher education policy, ensuring quality and for accreditation , to finance universities and institutions in the higher education sector, to divide up the tasks in expensive areas and to grant federal subsidies.
