The Federal Association of Private Providers of Social Services e. V. (bpa) is an advocacy group for private providers of social services in Germany.

mandate

According to the statutes , the interest group pursues the following goals:

Representation of the interests of private old people's and nursing homes; of private outpatient services; the private institutions of the disabled as well as children and youth welfare as well as the other private social services towards legislators, authorities, funds and associations as well as towards political parties.

Members

According to the association, more than 11,000 private outpatient and (partially) inpatient care facilities, assistance for the disabled and child and youth welfare are organized. The bpa thus represents more than every third care facility nationwide. The vast majority of members are medium-sized companies , including many family businesses. Typical bpa members are e.g. B. Nursing services with up to 10 employees and owner-managed inpatient facilities with approx. 70 places.

history

The federal association was founded in 1964. The headquarters of the federal office is in Berlin. Since 1989, the bpa has been a founding member of the European Confederation of Care Home Organizations (ECHO), the European association of private facility management associations based in Brussels , whose vice-president has been bpa President Bernd Meurer since 2010 . Meurer previously held the office of ECHO President from 2006.

In spring 2007 the federal association opened an office in Brussels.

In 2015 the bpa founded the bpa employers' association . V. co-founded. The former Federal Minister of Economics Rainer Brüderle took over the chairmanship .

Association structure

The association is organized in 16 regional groups, the regional offices of which are usually located in the state capital. Bernd Meurer has headed the seven-person presidium since 1997. In addition to the voluntary structure, which exists at federal and state level, there is a full-time structure with around 110 employees in 18 offices, headed by the managing directors Herbert Mauel and Bernd Tews.
