The Bunning Hill is a 48.5 m high and unvereister hill before the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . It rises at the southern end of Gardner Island in the Vestfold Mountains .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it in 1996 after Stephen Bunning (1951–1985), who died on October 29, 1985 from burns sustained in an explosion at Davis Station during the rescue flight to McMurdo Station .
