Burchard Kranich , also known as Doctor Burcot , (* around 1515 ; † 1578 ) was a German-English mining engineer and doctor . He came from the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation and was the personal physician of Hermann V. von Wied . Together with this and the Count of Stolberg he was in 1547 a. a. involved in the establishment of the Society of Noble Living Self-Walking Water Art. After increasing failures, he settled in England, where he invested in various mining companies in Derbyshire and Cornwall and looked for gold. Most recently he returned to his old profession as a doctor and practiced in London , where he a. a. Elizabeth I treated.
