The castle New Signau is a Outbound medieval hilltop castle from the 14th century and is situated in the Swiss municipality of Bowil in the canton of Bern .
Location and description
The castle lies on a Nagelfluhsporn . Opposite it, on the other side of the valley, lies the ruins of Alt-Signau . Today only a few traces of the castle can be seen.
history
After Alt-Signau Castle, the castle was the second ancestral seat of the Barons of Signau. The castle was used to protect and control the route between Emmental and Aare valley . In 1826 the castle was demolished.
