Pierre-Percée Castle
The Pierre-Percée Castle (German: Langstein or Langenstein ) is a ruined castle in Pierre-Percée in France.
The castle came to the County of Salm through Countess Agnès von Bar ( Bar-le-Duc ) in the 12th century and was destroyed by French-Swedish troops in the Thirty Years' War . At the castle there is a 30 m deep castle well that was carved into the rock.
Above all, the keep has been preserved on a long rocky reef in well-formed humpback blocks . The Pierre-Percée Castle is one of the few Hohenstaufen castle complexes west of the Vosges main ridge, along with Turquestein Castle.
