The castle Seeburg is an Outbound hilltop castle on the 630  m above sea level. NN high castle hill of the Seeburg district of the city of Bad Urach in the Reutlingen district in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

history

The castle, an Alemannic fortification, was probably built before 1150 by the Lords of Seeburg (Count Wigmann von Seburc) and in 1228 a Bertoldus de Sebure was mentioned. In 1556 Hans Ludwig von Speth sold the "Burgstatt Seeburc" to Duke Christoph von Württemberg and around 1562 the castle fell into disrepair after being destroyed. Small remains of the wall have been preserved from the former castle.
