The castle Stollhofen is an Outbound Wasserburg in Stollhofen , a modern district of the community Rheinmünster in the district of Rastatt in Baden-Wuerttemberg .
The castle, which served as the seat of the official administration for over five centuries, was probably built around 1200. In 1309, the Knight von der Windeck, already mentioned in 1239, sold castle (his "Vogtei Stollhofen") and town of Stollhofen to Margrave Rudolf von Baden for 1,350 marks of silver from Strasbourg money.
In 1707 the city fortifications and the castle were razed . The site of the former deep castle is built over and only the lines of a street are reminiscent of the former city fortifications.
