The castle Weisweil is an Outbound castle in the village of Weisweil, a modern district of the municipality Weisweil in the district of Emmendingen in Baden-Württemberg .

Presumably the castle was built by Hermann and Johann von Weisweil, named after the place and named in 1242, who were in the service of the Count of Freiburg . The Lords of Weisweil are also documented in the 14th century to the 15th century. After the castle and village of Friedrich von Üsenberg were assigned to fiefdom by the bishopric of Strasbourg in 1349 , Margrave Heinrich IV of Baden-Hachberg followed as a feudal man in 1352 . In 1356 the Bishop of Strasbourg Johann von Lichtenberg finally transferred the property to his relative Simunt von Lichtenberg . The margrave did not put up with this and occupied the town and castle Weisweil, whereupon it was decided in 1405 that both parties should each own half of the fief. The castle was mentioned for the last time in 1436.

Nothing is left of the castle complex , which can no longer be localized and is also mentioned in the Tennenbacher Güterbuch (1317–41).
