The Burger Binnensee is an approximately 290 ha large, haff-like lake in the Ostholstein district in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein south of the town of Burg on Fehmarn .
On the north bank is Burgstaaken , the municipal port of the city of Fehmarn . The Burgtiefe marina is located on the east side of the approach to the harbor from the Baltic Sea (on Fehmarnsund ) . In the Burger Binnensee there is also the small Kohlhof island , which serves as a breeding ground for birds.
