Burghard von der Betten (born November 27, 1884 in Dresden , † February 13, 1969 in Erlangen ) was a German Legation Councilor and Reich Commissioner for mineral oil, later for the leather industry.

Life

Burghard von derdeck came from the Hanoverian noble family von derdecks , who settled in Saxony after the war of 1866. He was the son of the Higher Administrative Judge Louis von der Betten auf Wechtern (1856–1931) and his wife Louise von der Betten, née. from the ceiling, from Lüneburg (1858–1932).

He attended the Vitzthumsche Gymnasium in Dresden, then he studied law and political science at the universities of Grenoble, Freiburg im Breisgau, Tübingen and Leipzig. In 1907 he became a trainee lawyer and in 1911 an assessor. As such, he entered the Saxon civil service and was initially assigned a position in the Zwickau administration . At times he was also in Schwarzenberg / Erzgeb. active.

In 1920 he was appointed Legation Councilor 1st class.

In 1934, Burghard von der Betten became Reich Commissioner for Mineral Oil in Berlin, and later Reich Commissioner for the leather industry. At the end of the war he worked in Prague. He was taken as a US prisoner of war in Stadelheim .

Later he managed a. a. the liaison office of the professional association of German industry in Bonn .

Burghard von derillen last lived in Bad Godesberg , where he worked as presbyter at the Protestant Christ Church.

family

In 1911 he married Dorothea (Thea) Schippel in Meißen. The marriage had two children. His second marriage was in Berlin in 1937.
