The Haglau castle stable is located in the Neudorf district of the municipality of Haslach an der Mühl in the Rohrbach district of Upper Austria on the grounds of the Thurmbauer (Neudorf 10).
history
The noble seat in Haglau was first mentioned in the 16th century (1581) as the property of Jeremias Schluch zu Grub and Haglau and in 1585 of Hieronymus Schluch (Schlux) zu Haglau. The seat was a fiefdom of the Rosenbergs . Haglau passed from the Schluch's heirs to Georg Walter zu Rohrbach on the sales channel in 1604 . After that, Haglau is said to have come to the Schwarzenbergs .
Burgstall Haglau today
The castle stables of the Höhenburg are about 0.2 km SSW of the Thurmbauer estate near Neudorf. Due to recent leveling, it is only partially recognizable. In the 1960s, moats were still clearly visible, these were largely leveled. At that time it was said that a deep, wide ditch and in front of it a mighty wall surround the tower hill. The masonry is said to be up to 1.7 m and consisted of hewn and smoothed stones that were connected with a sand mortar. Today the site is overgrown by trees.
