The Postal Lichtenberg is due to its localization in Hornbach digging Postal Hornberg called and refers to an Outbound hilltop castle in the eponymous municipality in the district Urfahr environment of Upper Austria .

In the municipality of Lichtenberg several medieval fortifications have been proven or are suspected to be there. In Altlichtenberg, for example, the Lichtenberger farm is accepted as the former seat of the Lichtenbergers; however, no weir systems are detectable here. Then there is a castle stable at the Ober-Mühlberger farmhouse (Mühlberg 2, on the so-called "Gschloßhübel") , which is secured with a wall and ditch. Then there is the Hornberg castle stable at the confluence of the Hornbach valley with the Haselgraben (near the so-called storage mill).

This earth substructure in the Hornberggraben could be the lost seat of the Lords of Lichtenberg. In 1220 an Ottacherus de Lihtenberch is mentioned here.

Since the complex is not a listed building, there is a risk that it will be destroyed by construction work, which would mean that a historic monument that is important for the Mühlviertel would be lost.
