The Wechselburg castle stalls are an abandoned Slavic hill fort between Wechselburg and Fischheim ( Central Saxony district ). The facility is located near the Fischheimer Borstel .
Description of the plant
In an extensive forest between Fischheim and Wechselburg, a 50 x 70 m area in the shape of an oval is surrounded by a simple ring wall. To the northwest this is half open, as a steep slope towards the Zwickauer Mulde forms a natural barrier there. The facility is much smaller than the Fischheimer Borstel, 500 m away .
Tourism & culture
Today there is a beautiful viewpoint with seating on the western part of the facility. You have a good view of the Rochlitz mountain and the Mulde valley. Until 1950 there was a classical temple in the immediate vicinity of this point, which was used, among other things, for fairy tale performances. Narrow, steep paths lead both through the Silbertal to the Fischheimer Borstel and to Wechselburg.
