Burkhard Ducoffre

Burkhard Ducoffre (born March 1, 1954 in Wesel ) is a German diplomat who was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Gabon from 2016 to 2019 . As such, he was also an ambassador in Sao Tome and Principe accredited , as well as Permanent Representative to the Central African Economic Community (CEEAC).

Life

Ducoffre entered the foreign service in 1977 and was employed there until 2009 at the headquarters of the Foreign Office in Bonn and Berlin as well as at various missions abroad. From 2009 to 2010 he was head of the Kunduz branch of the embassy in Afghanistan and then from 2010 to 2011 political advisor to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul . After his return, from 2011 to 2013 he was deputy head of a unit in the protocol department 7 at the Foreign Office. He was then deployed from 2013 to 2015 as permanent representative of the ambassador to Mongolia . From 2015 to 2016 Ducoffre worked as the deputy head of the economic department at the German embassy in Beijing, in the People's Republic of China .

In 2016, Ducoffre replaced Stefan Graf as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Gabon . As such, he is also an ambassador in Sao Tome and Principe accredited and Permanent Representative to the Central African Economic Community (CEEAC). In these offices he was replaced by Pascal Richter in the second half of 2019 .

Burkhard Ducoffre is married and has one son.
