Shambyl Auschanuly Akhmetbekow ( Kazakh Жамбыл Аужанұлы Ахметбеков , Russian Жамбыл Аужанович Ахметбеков ; born February 11, 1961 in Schanteke, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician.

Life

Shambyl Akhmetbekov was born in 1961 in the village of Schanteke in the Zelinograd Oblast . From 1978 to 1983 he studied at the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization at the Agricultural Institute in Zelinograd . In 1994 he graduated from the Kazakh Institute for Management, Economics and Forecasting .

Since September 1983 he worked in the agricultural sector and from November 1983 worked for the local Komsomol . Between 1987 and 1990 he worked for the District Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan in Korgalschyn County. From April 1990 to April 1992 he was First Secretary of the Korgalschyn District Committee of the Komsomol and a member of the Presidium of the District Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan in the Korgalschyn District. After Kazakhstan's independence, from 1992 to 1994 he was the head of the cultural department of the Tengiz District Administration in the Karagandy Region . He then became head of the youth, tourism and sport department of the Korgalschyn district administration and then head of the cultural department until 1998.

Since September 2005 Akhmetbekov was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan . At an extraordinary party congress he was nominated by the party on February 14, 2011 as a candidate for the 2011 presidential election. He passed the mandatory Kazakh language test and was also able to collect the necessary signatures to register his candidacy. With a result of 1.36 percent of the vote, he could only achieve third place. In the parliamentary elections in 2012 , the Communist People's Party was able to move into the Maschilis for the first time , whereby Akhmetbekov was able to win a parliamentary seat as a member of the party list. He was also able to enter parliament via the party list in the 2016 general election.
