Burkhard Steffen
Burkhard Steffen (* 1950 ) is a German weightlifter and strength athlete .
Life
Steffen started the later Fermersleber SV 1895 for BSG Motor Südost in Magdeburg . In 1979 he became GDR champion in weightlifting duels and bantamweight jerks . Later he switched to weight training and competed as an older athlete for SSV Eintracht Loitsche / Zielitz . He is a multiple world and European champion in the weight training masters.
Burkhard Steffen worked as a journalist .
In 2008 and 2010, Steffen was allowed to enter the Golden Book of the City of Magdeburg in recognition of his sporting success as a strength athlete . He is an honorary member of the Association for Weightlifting, Weight Training and Fitness Sachsen-Anhalt e. V.
