Burkhardt Lindner

Burkhardt Lindner (born October 31, 1943 in Haus Escherde ; † January 7, 2015 in Frankfurt / Main ) was a German literary scholar and Germanist , who most recently appeared with works on Walter Benjamin .

Lindner completed his habilitation in 1976. He was professor for “History and Aesthetics of the Media as well as for Modern German Literature” at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , where he headed the Walter Benjamin position until his death.

Lindner has published numerous essays and books on, among others, Jean Paul , Bert Brecht , Theodor W. Adornos' aesthetic theory and Walter Benjamin .
