Burnside was a whiskey distillery in Campbeltown , Argyll and Bute , Scotland .

The distillery was in 1825 by McMurchy, Ralston & Co. founded. When McMurchy, who joined the Dalaruan distillery as a partner in 1838 , left the company three years later, the distillery came into the possession of Colvill & Greenlees , who also owned the Argyll distillery . During the First World War and the following years the distillery was closed until it was reopened in 1923 by the Burnside Distillery Co. However, the final closure took place in the following year. The buildings were converted into a milk processing plant that still exists in this location today.

When Alfred Barnard visited the distillery in 1885 as part of his whiskey tour, described later, it had an annual production capacity of 96,000  gallons . There were a 3000-gallon border rough blister ( wash still ) and a 1,250 gallons comprehensive Refining still ( spirit still ) are available. A malt whiskey was produced which was largely sold in London and Glasgow .
