The bus station Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Santa Catalina (Spanish Intercambiador Santa Catalina) is an underground bus station in the island's capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria . It is located in the Santa Catalina district and in the immediate vicinity is the port . Along with San Telmo, it is one of two intercity bus stations in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Location and structure

The bus station is located in the Santa Catalina district , with a direct connection to the GC-1, which was built as an urban motorway in the Las Palmas area . The ferry terminal , Parque Santa Catalina and the El Muelle shopping center are close by . On an elliptical area 152 meters long * 97 meters wide, it offers over 20 parking spaces for the intercity buses on Gran Canaria. The railway line for the Gran Canaria Express has been under construction in Gran Canaria since 2012, which is to connect Las Palmas with Maspalomas Faro over a length of 48 kilometers . The 1 billion euro project is scheduled to go into operation in 2016. Santa Catalina will then be the northern terminus of the line. The travel time to Maspalomas should be 15 minutes. It will have nine more stopovers between Las Palmas and Maspalomas, including a stop at the airport .
