future

A railway line has been planned in Gran Canaria since 2012, which will connect Faro de Maspalomas in the south with Las Palmas San Telmo in the north on a stretch of 48 kilometers . The 1.6 billion euro project is intended to relieve the overloaded Autopista del Sur GC-1 . Faro de Maspalomas will then be the southern terminus of the railway line. The route in the Maspalomas area is planned as a tunnel. The travel time to Las Palmas should be 15 minutes. Between Maspalomas and Las Palmas it will have nine more stopovers, including a stop at the airport .
