Coordinates: 33 ° 39 ′ S , 115 ° 20 ′ E The Shire of Busselton is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 1455 km² and has about 36,500 inhabitants (2016).
Busselton is located in the southwest of the state about 195 km south of the capital Perth . The headquarters of the Shire Council is located in the coastal town of Busselton in the east of the LGA, where about 25,500 inhabitants live (2016).

The Busselton Council has ten members. They are elected by all residents of the Shire. Busselton is not divided into districts. The chairman of the council (Shire President) is also recruited from among the councilors.
