Coordinates: 31 ° 56 ′ S , 115 ° 47 ′ E The Town of Cambridge is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . Cambridge is part of the metropolis of Perth , the capital of Western Australia. The area is 22 km² and has about 26,800 inhabitants (2016).
Cambridge is located on Australia's west coast north of the Swan River and is about seven to ten kilometers from Perth city center. The seat of the Town Council is in the Floreat district in the east of the LGA, where about 7,900 people live (2016).

The Cambridge Council has nine members, eight councilors are elected by the residents of the two wards (four each from the Coast and four from Wembley Ward). The mayor (mayor) and council chairman is also elected by all residents of the town.
