Butch Felker
Harry Luther Butch Felker III (born September 13, 1945 in Wichita , Kansas , † January 3, 2008 in Topeka , Kansas) was an American politician.
Career
From 1990 to 1997 and from 2002 to 2003 he was mayor of the city of Topeka, where he had lived since he was five. His first term as mayor ended due to health problems, in the second Felker was suspended because of a scandal.
suspension
On October 10, 2003, Felker was suspended from duty for violating the Campaign Funding Act. Some employees had forged receipts and submitted inflated expense reports in order to invest the money in Butch Felker's re-election campaign.
Private life
Felker was married to Paula Honeyman. The couple adopted three children. The marriage was divorced in 1995. In 2000 he married his second wife Bette W. Martin. Felker died after a long period of cancer.
