Butterfly is one of the most famous songs from Smile.dk . It was released in 1998 on Smile , the band's debut album. The song was written and composed by Robert Uhlmann and Robin Rex.

Butterfly became known far beyond Sweden because it appears in the first version of Konami's music video game Dance Dance Revolution and Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMix . In addition, the follow-up Dance Dance Revolution X contains a remix of the song as an homage.

In 2009 the song was re-recorded with Veronica and Malin and released on March 13, 2009 under the title Butterfly '09 (United Forces Airplay Edit) .

Due to the similarity to J-Pop , the song is often wrongly attributed to Ayumi Hamasaki . The South African hip-hop band Die Antwoord honored the song with their song Enter the Ninja , which was released in 2010.
