Heinrich Friedrich von Baudissin

Heinrich Friedrich von Baudissin (born December 1, 1753 ; † May 17, 1818 in Kiel ) was Imperial Count and Danish Ambassador to Berlin.

Life

He was the heir of Rixdorf, Tram, Tresdorf, Knoop, Pronstorf, Uhlenhorst and Neu Nordsee. In 1777 he became Danish chamberlain.

In November 1784 he was accredited as the Danish ambassador in Berlin. He stayed there until he was recalled in 1787. He represented Denmark under two Prussian kings: Friedrich II and Friedrich Wilhelm II.

In 1790 he became a knight of the Dannebrog Order . In 1809 he was still a secret conference councilor.

family

His father was the Electorate General Heinrich Christoph von Baudissin (1709–1786) and he received the status of imperial count. His mother was the Countess Susanna Magdalena Elisabeth von Zinzendorf and Pottendorf (1723–1785). He married the writer Caroline von Schimmelmann (1759-1826). Her father was the wealthy businessman Heinrich Carl von Schimmelmann . He bought the Knoop estate , which belonged to the heavily indebted count, and gave it to his daughter as a dowry in the marriage. The couple had the following children:
