Buzz Dees is a Berlin rock band that was founded in the summer of 2009 in Berlin-Pankow .
history
The guitarist of the band Knorkator Sebastian Baur (Buzz Dee) tried out his ideas in the basement studio of the Bell, Book & Candle guitarist Holger Jagsch (Jagschn) after the temporary Knorkator dissolution (end of 2008 ). The two had the first song ideas provided by Steffen Holly (Knäcke) with German lyrics and during the course of the recordings he also took on the role of bassist in addition to his work as technical director of the Berlin music service Aupeo .
In early 2010 they chose the name "Buzz Dee's Baurn" for the project. In the meantime, Reiner Morgenroth (Morgenstern) joined the drummer, who had left the medieval rock band In Extremo in February 2010 . The element "Baurn", a reference to the guitarist and singer's surname, was deleted in the course of the project, as under no circumstances should a connection to the medieval rock scene be established, which was suggested by the new fourth member. The apostrophe in the Buzz Dees logo survived the debut CD and the first posters until the end of 2011.
In autumn 2010 the songs produced by guitarist Holger Jagsch in his own studio were finished and the CD was released on the company's own label Sholly Records in Cargo Distribution in March 2011. At the same time as the CD was released, the band gave their first concert in the Maschinenhaus (Kulturbrauerei Berlin) in March 2011, before Buzz Dee went on a re-union tour with Knorkator in April and autumn 2011.
In January 2012, Buzz Dees began rehearsing and preparing for their first own headlining tour, which was then successfully completed in February and March.
The recordings for the second album are currently in progress.
style
Musically, her songs move between retro rock, blues, alternative country, hard rock and rub against these borders with electronic and pop quotes. In connection with the sometimes very bizarre lyrics, the band calls it Rumpelrock.
