Bwrdd Arthur
Bwrdd Arthur is a walled hill fort on the Druid Island of Anglesey . Llanfihangel Din Sylwy is located to the east of the complex with the St. Michaels Church .
When the Roman general and governor Gaius Suetonius Paulinus conquered Mona (Anglesey) with the Llyn Cerrig brook around AD 60 , the island was an important center of Druidism, which confirms the importance of the sacrificial site.
Almost all of the artifacts are now on display at the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff .
context
Geoffrey Ashe identified other places with the name Arthur's table.
- King Arthur's Round Table (Cumbria) (German: King Arthur's Round Table in Cumbria) is a Neolithic or Bronze Age henge at Eamont Bridge south of Penrith in England . The monument is the central of three henges that lie in a triangle that extends west of the Lowther and Eamont rivers. The henge in the south (the Little Round Table) was destroyed. The 117 m long Henge von Mayburgh is a few hundred meters away to the west. The Hill of Skulls is also nearby .
- Bwrdd Arthur in Clwyd is a cairn (Cader Bronwen) on a hill,
- the amphitheater in Caerleon ;
- an earthwork on Stirling Castle .
- Bwrdd Arthur at Wrexham in Wales is a cairn .
In a history of English field names, John Field noted other round tables.
