The Bystrá is the highest mountain in the Western Tatras within the Tatras and also part of the Žilinský kraj region . It is 2248  m nm high.

The mountain rises at the end of three valleys: Račková valley from the southwest, Bystrá valley from the south and Kamenistá from the southeast. The summit can be reached from Podbanské along the yellow trail markings over the Bystrá valley or following the blue trail markings over the Bystré saddle ( Bystré sedlo ). From the north, from the Polish Kościelisko , the valley of the Dolina Kościeliska extends to the mountain.
