Celine Teney

Celine Teney (born February 25, 1981 in Huy (Belgium) ) is a Belgian sociologist . She works in the field of integration research and political sociology .

biography

Teney studied sociology and ethnology at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau , graduated in 2004 with a Magister and in 2008 with an Advanced Master in Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciences from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and the Université libre de Bruxelles . In 2009 she did her PhD in social and political science in Brussels. She conducted research at the Berlin Social Science Center and at Harvard .

Since March 2014 she has been a junior professor in Bremen . She leads the Socium Research inequality and social policy within the framework of the Excellence Initiative of the federal and state a research group on the topic Winners of Globalization? A Study on the Emergence of a Transnational Elite in Europe . On October 1, 2018, she will take over the professorship for Fundamentals of Social Sciences at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen .

Awards

In 2016, Teney was awarded the Heinz Maier Leibnitz Prize by the German Research Foundation for her empirical social research .
