César "Cés" Keizer (born April 4, 1925 in Basel ; † February 25, 2007 in Zurich ; actually Hanspeter Keizer ), a citizen of Basel and Zug , was a Swiss cabaret artist .

life and work

César Keizer grew up in Basel. After high school, he trained as a drawing teacher at the Basel School of Applied Arts and played in the Kikeriki student cabaret . In 1951 he was brought to the Cabaret Fédéral in Zurich . There he met the actress and dancer Margrit Läubli , whom he married in 1956. César Keizer worked as a travel correspondent in the Middle East and as a writer for the advertising company Cefi.

The couple had two sons, cabaret artist Lorenz (* 1959) and Mathis (* 1958). From 1962, César Keizer and Margrit Läubli appeared together in their own cabaret productions. Keizer has received several awards from the literature commissions of the city and canton of Zurich. In 1990 Läubli and Keizer received the great Cornichon Prize of the Olten Cabaret Days , in 1999 the Salzburg Honorary Bull in Leipzig, and in 2004 the Honorary Prix ​​Walo of the Swiss Show Scene for their life's work.

César Keizer died of heart failure at the age of 81. His grave can be found in the Enzenbühl cemetery in Zurich (FG 81182). In front of the grave slab some of his most famous limericks are engraved on a stone slab.
