Mehmet Cüneyt Tanman (born January 16, 1956 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player .

Career

Tanman played for the Turkish football club Galatasaray Istanbul . For Galatasaray he completed 401 first division games from 1973/74 to 1990/91 and was thus at times the record player in the Turkish league. Cüneyt Tanman was the captain of Galatasaray Istanbul from 1985 to 1991. In 1975/76 he was loaned to Giresunspor .

In the national team , the defender played 17 international matches. In 1991 Tanman ended his career with a farewell game.

After his active career, he moved to the management of Galatasaray for a period. In 2004 he worked as a co-commentator for the Turkish pay TV broadcaster Lig TV. From November 2010 to 2011 he also worked on the Galatasaray scouting team. Tanman was the sporting director of Galatasaray until the end of the 2010/11 season. He also held this position from 2014 to 2015, but was dismissed.
