Cătălin Pirtu (born February 19, 1992 ) is a Romanian biathlete .

Cătălin Pirtu appeared internationally for the first time at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě , where he was 88th of the individual and 83rd of the sprint. Towards the end of the season he was used for the first time in the men's IBU Cup in Bansko and was 38th in his first sprint and thus immediately won his first points. The first major event for the men was the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Martell , where Pirtu was first used in the juniors and was 17th in the sprint and 14th in the pursuit. For the mixed relay race he was appointed to the performance area and was seventh with Luminița Pișcoran , Diana Marian Salman and Remus Faur .
