C'est la faute à Rosalie is a 1912 French silent comedy film directed by Roméo Bosetti .

Rosalie is the housekeeper for the wealthy Dugratin family. Her cousin Mathurin announces a visit by letter and so Rosalie promptly thinks a burglar in the house is Mathurin and greets him effusively. An escape fails and the burglar has to stay in the house of the Dugratins involuntarily. Only at night does he manage to escape with his stolen property.

The real Mathurin appears to the Dugratins in the middle of the night and is again mistaken for a burglar. In the end, Rosalie is made responsible for the chaos and is thrown out of the apartment with Mathurin.

C'est la faute à Rosalie was part of the popular Rosalie series, which was created by Pathé Comica in Nice from 1911 and comprised more than 30 short films. The main role of Rosalie, occasionally also called "Emma" in German-speaking countries, played Sarah Duhamel , who is considered one of the first film comedians in France. The film premiered on July 19, 1912.

C'est la faute à Rosalie is preserved in a 134-meter-long copy in the Nederlands Filmmuseum in Amsterdam . The original length of the film was 145 meters.
