Life

Bosetti was a child of the circus. His parents performed as artists, he made his debut in the ring at the age of ten. He never went to school, but taught himself French (in addition to his mother tongue Italian) at an early age, as the circus family often made guest appearances in areas where this language is spoken.

He remained connected to the circus as an artist until 1906, but also to the first films as a stuntman and the stage as a music hall artist; then he appeared for the first time in a film for the Pathé , La course à la perruque . He soon moved to Gaumont , where he appeared in numerous short, action-packed comedies in the thirty or so films about Roméo, who was named after himself, from 1908 to 1914. By 1916, again for the Pathé from 1911, but also for the Nice- based production company “Comica Film”, he directed around 340 films with numerous successful series characters - he already had experience as a producer of three Louis Feuilladescher Fantomas films - so u . a. Calino (played by Clément Mégé ), Bigorno ( René Lantini ), Caroline ( Ellen Lowe ), Casimir ( Lucien Bataille ), Little Moritz ( Maurice Schwartz ), Patouilard ( Paul Bertho ) and Rosalie ( Sarah Duhamel ). He used techniques such as stop motion early on .

After the First World War , in which Bosetti took part and was wounded, the films made by Bosetti were no longer in demand, so he switched to production and other tasks in the distributive area.
