C ₃ benzenes

In chemistry and technology, a group of compounds in which benzene is only substituted by three other carbon atoms in the form of alkyl radicals is referred to as C ₃ -benzenes .

These substances with the empirical formula C ₉ H ₁₂ and a molar mass of 120.19 g mol ⁻¹ include 8 compounds in 3 groups:

• the three trimethylbenzenes ( hemellitol , pseudocumene , mesitylene )
• the three ethylmethylbenzenes
• the cumene and the n-propylbenzene
