CD Marino (officially: Club Deportivo Marino Tenerife Sur ) is a Spanish football club founded in 1933 that currently plays in Group 12 of the Tercera División , the fourth highest league level. The association is based in Playa de las Américas , Arona , on Tenerife .

history

Promotion team 2011/12

Until 1991 the club was known as Club Deportivo Marino . In the summer of 1980, the CD Marino, which until then had only played in the regional leagues, was promoted to the Tercera División . After rather average rankings of the club for the eighth year was surprisingly master of Tercera División and got into the Segunda División B on. In the 1990/91 season , the club achieved its best result in the Copa del Rey by reaching the third main round . In the summer of 1991 the club name was supplemented by the addition of Tenerife Sur to Club Deportivo Marino Tenerife Sur . After five average years in the Segunda División B, the club had to relegate in nineteenth. Due to financial problems, they withdrew to the regional leagues and returned to the name Club Deportivo Marino . In summer 2007 he returned to the Tercera División. In 2008 the club name was supplemented by the place name to Club Deportivo Marino Playa de Las Américas . In the summer of 2012, the club was promoted to the Segunda División B again and the club was renamed Club Deportivo Marino Tenerife Sur . In addition, the club was able to qualify for the first time since 1992 for the Copa del Rey, but was eliminated in the first main round against Caudal Deportivo . The return to Segunda Division B did not go well either. The club was only able to celebrate its first victory on the ninth day of the game, was always on a relegation rank, was bottom of the table for weeks and was relegated at the end of the season with 35 points from 38 games. Since then, the club has played in the Tercera División.
