Arona is a city in the south of Tenerife with 81,216 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). The city owes its wealth to its two tourist strongholds, Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos .
On the town square there is a church in the classic Canarian style , next to it the town hall , which is well worth seeing .
The foundation took place on March 13, 1798, the political municipality was established in 1812.

The city of Arona is a bit out of the way in terms of traffic , while Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos can be reached very quickly from Santa Cruz and from Tenerife South Airport via the TF-1 southern motorway .
