Guía de Isora is a Spanish municipality on the Canary Island of Tenerife with 21,368 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It is located on the western coast of Tenerife. The TF-1 ( Autopista del Sur ) connects Guía de Isora with Santiago del Teide and the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife . Neighboring communities are Santiago del Teide in the north, La Orotava in the east and Adeje in the south.
The municipality has an area of 143.82 km² at an average altitude of 580 m above sea level.
From Guía de Isora you have a spectacular view of the neighboring island of La Gomera . The waterway between Tenerife and Gomera is home to whales and dolphins that live there. Guía de Isora is also the starting point for hikes in the Teno Mountains and to Teide .
Agriculture is characterized by the cultivation of bananas and tomatoes. Since this is very water-intensive, farmers are increasingly relying on the cultivation of ornamental plants, as this uses less water and land and thus makes more profit.
