El Rosario is a municipality district with 17,370 inhabitants (at January 1, 2019) in the northeast of the Canary Island of Tenerife . It is connected to the neighboring municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife to the east via the TF-1 southern motorway . Other neighboring communities are San Cristóbal de La Laguna in the north, Candelaria in the south, La Matanza de Acentejo and El Sauzal in the west and Tacoronte in the northwest.
The municipality of El Rosario has an area of 39.42 km² and extends from 0 m to 905 m above sea level.
