Güímar is a municipality in the northeast of Tenerife with 20,190 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It is connected to the neighboring municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife via the southern TF-1 motorway and the old Santa Cruz de Tenerife - Adeje road. Güímar is located southwest of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Neighboring communities are Arafo in the north, Fasnia in the south and La Orotava in the west.
The municipality has an area of 102.92 km² at an average height of 289 m above sea level.
