El Sauzal is a Spanish city in the northeast of the Canary Island of Tenerife . Its population is 8934 (as of January 1, 2019).
El Sauzal is connected to Santa Cruz de Tenerife by the TF-5 northern motorway . The city is located west of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and northeast of Arona . Neighboring communities are Tacoronte in the north and northeast, El Rosario in the east and southeast and La Matanza de Acentejo in the south and west.
The municipality has an area of 18.49 km² and is at an average height of 360 m above sea level.

Attractions
- La Casa del Vino La Baranda is a museum and information center about viticulture and other agricultural activities on the island of Tenerife.
- El Mirador de las Breñas y Paseo Litoral Costa Acentejo .
- Las Breñas viewpoint and the Acentejo promenade . From the lookout point, a hiking trail leads about 6 km in serpentines through the nature reserve to the coastal promenade and the bathing bays of El Sauzal. Bathing in these bathing bays is not entirely safe and only something for experienced swimmers. Many unique species of flora and fauna have been preserved in the nature reserve, such as the Bulwer petrel and the spotted horn clover. The natural population of this plant is even limited to this nature reserve. The path begins and ends at the Mirador.
- Parque - Mirador de La Garañona . The vantage point is 200 meters above the ground on a cliff overlooking the black sand beach. The cliff coast is characterized by many endemic plant species.
Social facilities
The CADF El Sauzal (Centro de Atención a Personas con Discapacidad Física - Center for Awareness of People with Physical Disabilities) in El Sauzal started its work in January 2016. Since then, wheelchair users have been part of the cityscape of El Sauzal. You drive through the streets or sit in the numerous cafes. The CADF is a public institution that pioneers the care and provision of socio-health care services for people with physical disabilities. The declared long-term goal is to promote the individual and community well-being of all people who live in it and the professionals who work there.
