Chage and Aska

Chage and Aska (proper spelling CHAGE and ASKA ), formerly chage & Asuka ( チャゲ&飛鳥 , 1979-1988), chage & Asuka (in Latin letters, 1989-1990) and chage & Aska (1990-2000), are a 1979 proposal from the Yamaha Music Foundation established Japanese J-Pop duo consisting of the singers Chage (formerly: チ ャ ゲ ; civil: Shūji Shibata ( 柴 田 秀 之 , Shibata Shūji )) and Aska (formerly: Ryō Asuka ( 飛鳥 涼 , Asuka Ryō ); civil: Shigeaki Miyazaki ( 宮 﨑重 明 , Miyazaki Shigeaki )), who were both born in Fukuoka in 1958 .

Chage and Aska are one of the most famous Japanese bands with sales of 31 million records in Asia. Her music is mainly influenced by folk and the Beatles as well as hard rock. They were the first Japanese artists to appear on MTV . Meanwhile, Chage and Aska have developed significant solo careers.

Her first hit was in 1980 Banri no Kawa . The band made their breakthrough in 1991 with Hajimari wa Itsumo Ame . In 1994 they made the music for Street Fighter ( Something there ) and in 1995 their music video produced by Hayao Miyazaki ( On Your Mark ).
