Christoffel Johannes van der Linde (born August 27, 1980 in Welkom , South Africa ), better known as CJ van der Linde , is a South African rugby union player who plays on the right pillar position for the Springboks and Leinster Rugby .

His debut for the Springboks had CJ van der Linde at the age of 22 years on 16 November 2002 at the match against Scotland at Murrayfield Stadium . He had a second game with the Springboks in the same year, this time against England .

It was not until 2004 that he was nominated again for the Springboks for the games against Ireland . In 2007 he was part of the team that won the title at the World Cup . He won the Heineken Cup with Leinster in 2009 , but was unable to play due to an injury in the crucial part of the season.

CJ van der Linde is one of the strongest of his team in the bench press with 190 kg. He himself weighs 125 kg and is 189 cm tall.
