CL Smooth
Corey Brent Penn (born October 8, 1968 in New Rochelle , New York ; stage name CL Smooth ) is an American rapper , best known for his collaboration with producer Pete Rock as Pete Rock & CL Smooth .
After the duo separated in 1995, Penn initially largely withdrew from the music business and only appeared occasionally as a guest artist on works by other artists, including in 1998 on the solo album of his former partner Pete Rock, Soul Sourvivor . In 2006, more than 10 years after the last album as Pete Rock & CL Smooth , Smooth released his first solo album American Me .
