The Comisión Nacional sobre la Desaparición de Personas (CONADEP) (National Commission on the Disappearance of Persons) was founded on December 15, 1983 by the Argentine President Raúl Alfonsín shortly after taking office by decree 187/83. Its task was to investigate the fate of the Desaparecidos and other human rights violations during the military dictatorship from 1976 to 1983 (the so-called Process of National Reorganization ).

The results of the investigative commission were handed over to Alfonsín in the Nunca más report (German: Never again ) on September 20, 1984, and to this day form the basis for numerous legal proceedings against members of the military juntas and other military personnel, e. B. General Jorge Rafael Videla .

Members of CONADEP were:

(1) Appointed by the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Parliament.
