The Cabane François-Xavier Bagnoud - Cabane de Panossière is located in the Valais, in the valley of the Verbier resort , the Val de Bagnes . It was built as a wooden hut in 1893 and enlarged to 32 places in 1909. In 1969 a stone hut was built as a replacement, which was destroyed by an avalanche in 1988. Until 1996, a construction shed served as temporary, the new hut was - also thanks to the contribution of the Foundation Association François-Xavier Bagnoud - opened.
The refuge is owned by the municipality of Bagnes . For hikers it can be reached from Verbier or Fionnay.
