from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cabaret Rotstift was one of the most famous cabaret ensembles in Switzerland .

history

The Cabaret Rotstift was founded in 1954 by some teachers from Schlieren . A performance was supposed to raise money to enable children from poor families to take part in a ski camp. The founding members were Hedi Baumann, Isolde Füllemann, Werner von Aesch , Max Bürgi, Röbi Lips, Walter Witzig, Hans Scheuermeier and Heini Pfister. From 1957 to 1965 Fredy Lienhard was there as a lyricist, composer, pianist and actor. Max Bürgi and Röbi Lips left the cabaret in the 1970s, and Heinz Lüthi joined them in 1977. Jürg Randegger had been there since 1965.

In 1956 the second program was created, which was also broadcast on radio and television. In 1985 the Cabaret Rotstift was awarded the Prix Walo . After one last tour, more than 45 years on stage and around 20 programs, the Cabaret Rotstift said goodbye to the audience in 2002 with a final performance at the location of their first performance, the Singsaal in the Hofacker schoolhouse. Of the founding members, only Werner von Aesch was there.
