Cabinteely ( Irish : Cabán tSíle ) is a southern suburb of Dublin in County Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown , Republic of Ireland. According to preliminary figures, the place had 13,762 inhabitants in 2011 and is 42nd in the list of the largest cities in the republic.

Location and traffic

The N11 ( Stillorgan Rd - Cabinteely Bypass - Bray Rd ) crosses from Foxrock coming, the place in the direction of Shankill and Bray further south to Wicklow and Wexford . The route of the new M50 motorway runs to the west, which bypasses Dublin extensively and joins the N11 further south.

The Celtic Cross of Tully

Large parts of Cabinteely consist of park landscapes ( Cabinteely Park, Kilbogget Park ) or rural areas (around Laughanstown / Brennanstown). In Cabinteely Park , surrounded by 45 hectares of parkland, is the Cabinteely House , which was built in the 18th century by Robert Nugent, Lord Clare . Today the house is owned by the CoCo (County Council) of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown and can be visited. In Kilbogget Park , which serves mainly sports and recreational purposes, is the Kilbogget House , which is also open to the public.

There are various historical and prehistoric objects in the vicinity of the place, such as the Glendruid Dolmen in Brennanstown or the Tully Cross .

The place has grown in popularity in recent years as a place to live in south Dublin.
